Does a dog’s nutritional need differ from ours?

Of course it does and ever breed of dog has very different nutritional requirements.  It is important to provide your pet with a well-balanced healthy diet that ensures that it doesn’t lead to health problems in the future. To maintained a dog’s healthy metabolism it’s important to know and understand the balance between calcium and phosphorus which is something your vet can help you with.

We all understand that cooking for our family or ourselves is not the same as cooking for our pets. Dogs nutritional requirements are different and vary during different stages if their lives.

We would also not recommend feeding your dog raw meat.  Raw meat often contains harmful bacteria like Salmonella, Listeria, E. coli and more which can be very dangerous to pets.  If you do choose to feed your dog raw meat we urge you to speak with your veterinarian prior to doing so.

Every ingredient in pet food and supplements has a purpose.  We only select dog ingredients in our supplements that help your pet live his best life possible.  If you’ve ever wondered what the ingredients in your pet’s food do, read our ingredients page for each product

There are six basic nutrients that a dog needs which are water, proteins, fats, carbohydrates, minerals, and vitamins.  However when you dog suffers from a chronic condition, such as joint pain, skin problems, or digestive problems they could benefit from a supplement as the nutrients they receive in their food might not be enough.  There are some additional supplements that address certain medical issues and could improve the health of your dog.  It is always best to first discuss any medical concerns you have with your veterinarian and get his or her recommendation for supplements from which your dog may benefit.
